Summertime Ball recap

I had the great opportunity to attend this years Summertime Ball by Capital FM. Jennifer was presented as the headliner of the show, a well deserved title.

The day started very early for me and some fellow Lovers, we got in line at about 9.30 am. The doors of the Wembley Stadium finally opened at 2 pm and the show started at 4 pm. After seeing some great acts perform like Nicole Scherzinger, Cee Lo Green and Enrique Iglesias it was finally JLo time around 7. I saw the big heart shaped question mark platform behind the stage and I knew right away who was up next.

The intro video started playing, the one which was also used during the tour, hyping the croud up. Images of Jennifer in her music videos flashed over the big screens on stage and the Waiting For Tonight beat kicked in. And there she was, up on the heart shaped question mark platform coming down from the ceiling. Moving her body around like only a pro like Jen can do. A few seconds later she turned around and the show started.

She kicked off with the classic Waiting For Tonight, Jenny From The Block was up next. Jennifer was enjoying her time on stage and the audience going crazy over her. She dropped a glittery top piece and was making sure the crowd was ready for her next hit. The canes came out and luckily for me, she performed my ultimate favorite JLo song up next: Get Right! She didn’t missed a beat and delivered one of the hottest Get Right performances she ever did. When the song was over she vanished under the stage.

Another intro video started to play, showing footage of her latest music video for I’m Into You. She popped up back on stage in a totally new outfit and began to sing the second single of Love? She danced around with her dancers and even sang the bridge of the song which was a nice surprise. When the song was over she took a seat at her heart shaped question mark throne.

It was time for the big finale. Her smash hit On The Floor was the final song of her set. She gave it her all, walked across the ramp up to a platform which moved her to a new height. The infectious beat and Jennifer’s energetic moves got the whole Wembley Stadium up jumping. Towards the end of the song the ramp slowly moved down until Jennifer totally vanished below the stage. She left 75,000 people yelling, screaming and cheering for her.

It was an absolute pleasure to see her perform again live on stage, it was 2½ years ago I saw her in concert the last time. Let me tell you this, she was even more energetic than before. I dare to say that she is more than ready to tour and hopefully a world tour sees the daylight this time around. Lovers from all over the world deserve the chance to see the Latin stage explosion that Jennifer Lopez is, live on stage.

I’m very happy to share some of the moments I’ve captured during the performance with you all, hope you enjoy just like I did!
