Lopez Family Foundation Honored By ATA, Receives $50,000 Donation

Jennifer Lopez and The Lopez Family Foundation have been named the winners of the 2013 American Telemedicine Association (ATA) Humanitarian Award!

In a video statement that will be shown at the ATA conference in May, Jennifer said she was honored to receive the Humanitarian Award from the ATA and has seen the positive impact of telemedicine in improving patients’ health and wellbeing.

In honor of the award, Joel E. Barthelemy, Founder and Managing Director of GlobalMed, a worldwide leader in real-time healthcare delivery systems, presented Jennifer with a $50,000 check towards the Lopez Family Foundation.

Jennifer and her sister, Lynda Lopez, started the foundation to improve access to quality healthcare and health education to women and children living in underserved and underprivileged communities. The goals of the foundation include expanding the number of telemedicine clinics domestically and abroad to increase “access to top quality pediatric care for the most serious cases.”

Barthelemy said he is glad to be able to support a cause that is helping provide much-needed access to healthcare in places with the greatest need.

“The Lopez Family Foundation is an amazing organization that is giving the opportunity for quality healthcare to families and children in areas that need it the most,” Barthelemy said. “We are proud to be able to support this effort and help build on the foundation’s goals.”

JLo Covers Glam Belleza Latina

Jennifer Lopez is on the cover of the debut issue of Glamour’s new magazine, Glam Belleza Latina! Glam Belleza Latina is a new magazine dedicated to celebrating the beauty and style of Latinas. Here are a few excerpts:

Does love make you beautiful? “Absolutely,” says Lopez. “But I don’t think it’s the love of somebody else. It’s learning to love yourself, like Whitney Houston sang. That really is the greatest love of all. We beat ourselves up so bad, [saying] ‘I messed up. I made the wrong choice.’ I started embracing that I do make mistakes. I’m a human being. I’m supposed to be flawed. I’m perfect in my imperfections.”

On love: “There’s so much love in the world, and people who just want to dance and forget their troubles for a little while. To be a person who can provide that, it’s a blessing.”

On Latina Style: “I love to see our distinct Latina style,” Lopez says of future issues of Glam Belleza Latina. “It’s sexy, it’s sweet, it’s romantic, it’s passionate.”

On confidence: “I am confident. It doesn’t mean I don’t have my moments. But you have to remember the value of your individuality—that you have something special and different to offer that nobody else has.”

Glam Belleza Latina available on select newsstands starting March 5, so be on the lookout for it! In the meantime, you can check out a first look at their interview with Jennifer here.

Music update

Seems like Jennifer is working hard on new music lately!
After the news that she hit the studio with Afrojack, Dr Luke and Sean Paul it seems like she recorded some new music this week.

Chantal Kreviazuk tweeted the following and Jennifer replied:

Chantal is a singer-songwriter, she penned songs for the likes of Avril Lavigne, Gwen Stefani, Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood and Drake.

A day after Jennifer tweeted something really exciting for us long time LOVE!rs:

Cory and Jennifer have quite some musical history together as he (co-)wrote and produced lots of Jen’s musical catalog. They collaborated on JLo signature songs like If You Had My Love, Ain’t It Funny, I’m Real, Play, Jenny From The Block, All I Have, Get Right, Do It Well and Hold It, Don’t Drop It. The song dedicated to Jennifer’s twins Max and Emme, One Step At A Time, was their latest track together.

We can’t wait to hear the outcome of all of this!

DAWT Memory Book Photos & Video

As you may recall, we put a fanbook together and delivered it to Jennifer at her last show in Puerto Rico in December! Jennifer loved the book and said, “You guys [BB] always put together beautiful things!”

Here are the photos and a video of the experience that Yoan put together:

Hey JLOVE!RS,

First of all, I want to thank you guys for your patience and to apologize for posting this so late. Erika and I have been having such a tight schedule between work and family issues that made it almost impossible to sit down and work together on the story and the video we made to show you guys the book. Enjoy the video and again please accept our apologies. LOVE!

Note: A few fans sent us incomplete info/bad photos and never responded to our e-mails requesting information, so if you don’t see your picture featured, that’s why. Sorry!

We hope you guys liked the book and THANK YOU to each and every single one of you guys. We received a total of 130 submissions!
