Jennifer Lopez is reteaming with STXfilms on the upcoming romantic-comedy “Marry Me.” Per Deadline, it is described as Notting Hill meets The Proposal. The story centers on a pop superstar (Jennifer) who, moments before marrying her rock-star fiancé at Madison Square Garden, finds out he was cheating with her assistant and spontaneously melts down onstage and picks a random math teacher (Owen Wilson) out of the crowd to marry instead. What starts as a goof ends up becoming an exploration of relationships, expectations and destiny.
Kat Coiro is directing the film and the script was written by John Rogers and Tami Sagher, with a rewrite by Harper Dill.
“Marry Me” will likely film this fall after Jennifer wraps up her tour. Jennifer has mentioned in recent interviews that her next album will be tied to this movie, so that’s something else to look forward to!
