Per Variety, Jennifer Lopez has landed a role in Jason Blum’s new micro-budget thriller, “The Boy Next Door,”! Jennifer will star as a “newly separated mother who begins an affair with a new teenage neighbor who befriends her son. Trouble ensues, however, when she tries to abruptly end the relationship.”
Jason Blum is known for producing “The Purge” and “Paranormal Activity”, among others. Rob Cohen, who directed “XXX”, “The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor”, and “The Fast and The Furious” is in talks to direct. Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas and Benny Medina will produce the film for Jennifer’s production company, Nuyorican.
The budget is reportedly between $3 million and $4 million and it will be filmed this Fall. Jennifer is also set to film “The 33” this Fall.
