Per THR, Jennifer’s role in the upcoming film, “The 33” has been confirmed! “The 33” is based on the true story of the 33 Chilean miners who were rescued after being trapped underground for 69 days in 2010. The film will also star Antonio Banderas, Martin Sheen, and Rodrigo Santoro (all of whom Jennifer has worked with before!). No word yet on who Jennifer will be playing.
“The 33″ will be directed by Patricia Riggen (La Misma Luna) from a screenplay by Mikko Alanne and José Rivera. Production is scheduled to begin in the fall in Chile. Jennifer recently spoke about the film while on the radio, but did not reveal her co-stars or the title of the movie, though we speculated correctly. This is not to be confused with the role Jennifer got while on the radio. That is for a separate film, and hopefully details will be revealed soon!
Jennifer Lopez has been focusing on her music career for some time now, but now we have news on the movie front! Jennifer just learned that she got a new role while recording a radio interview in Washington DC!
Watch her reaction above. She couldn’t disclose any details, but it sounds like she is VERY excited to film a “great role” in a “small movie” that a lot of people wanted. Here’s the rest of the interview:
It’s a great interview and Jennifer really opened up, so check it out!!
Jennifer also recently mentioned that she will be part of a new movie based on the Chilean miners who were trapped underground for 69 days back in 2010. Her role has not been formally announced yet, but we believe the film is “The 33”, which will star Antonio Banderas, Martin Sheen, and Rodrigo Santoro. Interestingly enough, Jennifer has worked with all three in the past! “The 33” will be directed by Patricia Riggen (La Misma Luna) from a screenplay by Mikko Alanne and José Rivera.
With 2 new movies being filmed, a 3D tour movie, and a new album, the rest of 2013 is shaping up to be a great year!
