Jennifer Lopez Covers Vogue

Jennifer Lopez is on the cover of the December issue of VOGUE! Jennifer discussed a wide range of topics in the interview, including her marriage to Ben Affleck, her current film project, Atlas, and new music!!

Here’s an excerpt:

Lopez has grand, multimedia plans for her current musical project. She wants to create a musical odyssey in the manner of Pink Floyd’s The Wall, she says—but with a message about hope and love. Perhaps the most poignant moment in Halftime, the documentary about her Super Bowl year released on Netflix last June, occurs when Lopez is reading out loud from an article about herself in Glamour. “It’s thrilling to see a criminally underrated performer”—here she pauses, and tears well in her eyes—“get her due from prestige film outlets.” In fact Lopez did not quite get her due, having been denied an Academy Award nomination, which some in the industry viewed as a snub. A Grammy continues to elude her, too. Despite her stardom, she has spent years fighting for credibility, and for all her artistic accomplishment, to some people she is, simply, Jennifer Lopez for a living. This hurts less than it once did.

“I’ve always felt like an outsider, in the fashion world, the music world, the movie world,” she explains. “I feel like everybody knows each other and all the artists talk, and you go to the Met ball and all the girls are hanging out together, and I’m not in that group. Maybe that’s just insecurity. It’s not because I’m antisocial or I don’t want to make friends. I’ve always been kind of a march-to-the-beat-of-my-own-drum, loner-type person. I’m like, I’ll just stay focused on my thing. I’ve always kind of felt like that. I still do. But I try! It used to be about the idea of validation in other people’s eyes. It really used to be. Because I wanted to be part of the club. But I don’t anymore. There’s something bigger that I’m after. It’s about touching people’s lives and being touched.”

JLo Covers InStyle

Jennifer Lopez is on the cover of the May issue of InStyle Magazine! InStyle spoke with Jennifer, her friends, and her collaborators for the issue, which will be available on newsstands April 16.

After three decades of nonstop performing, you would think that Jennifer Lopez might take a break. But…nope. “I’m in the best shape of my life,” she says. And her friends and colleagues — Leah Remini, Ben Affleck, Michelle Obama, Marc Anthony, and many, many more — concur. Perhaps rapper Fat Joe puts it best. “She’s Jenny the Icon. She’s not just from the Bronx no more…”

JLo Covers Elle

Jennifer Lopez is on the cover of the February issue of Elle! Jennifer spoke about JLo Beauty, her upcoming projects, performing at the Super Bowl, her upcoming wedding and more. Here’s a short excerpt:

If it seems like Lopez is always working, that’s because she is. In the past few years, she shot Hustlers, performed in a sold-out summer tour for her fiftieth birthday, filmed Marry Me, and sang and danced her heart out alongside Shakira at the 2020 Super Bowl. She’d always intended to take last year off. “I didn’t plan to be trapped at home,” she says, laughing. “But I had planned to be home, and it’s been good.” Still, just because she’s been at home doesn’t mean she hasn’t been working. The video for her single “In The Morning” will drop on her Triller channel on February 13th and hit YouTube on the 15th. And at the beginning of this year, she finally launched her long-awaited beauty line, aptly titled JLo Beauty, a tightly curated collection of eight products: a cleanser, a serum, a sheet mask, a night cream, an SPF moisturizer, an eye cream, a bronzer/complexion booster, and a dietary supplement.

“Wherever I go, the number one question people ask is, ‘What do you do for your skin?’ ” Lopez tells me. At the launch event for her line, Lopez reiterated this sentiment to a group of beauty editors. “Even my closest friends are like, ‘Come on, bitch, what are you doing with your skin?’ ”
