Jennifer will receive the Grace Kelly Award at the eighth annual March of Dimes luncheon at the Beverly Hills Hotel on Friday. Jennifer said the following in a statement: “As a mother myself, I am aware of the importance of healthful pregnancies and babies.”The 75-year-old nonprofit organization aims to prevent birth defects, premature births and infant mortality.

Jennifer Lopez was honored for her humanitarian efforts at the amFAR Gala in NYC tonight! Jennifer looked amazing in a blue Tom Ford gown. Her date for the event was Kenneth Cole, who is on the Board of Directors.
Jennifer does a huge amount of humanitarian work, which I think gets overshadowed by how famous she is. I’ve been friendly with her publicist Mark Young as well as [her manager] Benny Medina and pitched the idea of trying to do something to honor her for amfAR for quite a while. But the dates never worked out. We wanted to honor her for being such an icon. This is called the Inspiration Gala: it’s all about people who inspire us! Not only has she contributed to amfAR’s mission, but she has her own foundation and she’s worked with UNICEF and she’s traveled all over the world helping charities. She’s a fashion icon, too.
Jennifer accepted the Humanitarian Award and became a bit emotional on stage. If a video pops up, we’ll be sure to post it! In the meantime, check out the pics, thanks to Adriana!

Sorry, this video is LQ, but the others are much better quality!
This is a great charity concert that also featured Beyonce, Florence & The Machine, John Legend, Madonna, etc. All tickets sales (less VAT and service fees) will go towards raising funds for projects, which will be disseminated through Catapult – the first crowd-funding platform dedicated to advancing the lives of girls and women. In a world first, through Catapult, fans will be able to choose exactly which projects their money goes towards and receive updates on their progress. The Lopez Family Foundation has two projects, and you can read all about them and donate to the cause on their Catapult page.
The concert will be broadcast worldwide, so check your local listings! In the US, it will air on Sunday, June 2, from 9-11pm on NBC!
