The Radio Disney Music Awards will air tonight on the Disney Channel, so tune in!!
Jennifer Lopez will be honored with the Hero Award at the 2015 Radio Disney Music Awards (RDMA), in recognition of her fervent and unceasing philanthropic efforts in the U.S. and around the world. The RDMAs, music’s biggest event for families, will take place Saturday, April 25 at Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE in Los Angeles. The awards show will be presented Sunday, April 26 on Disney Channel and in the months to come, on Disney Channels around the world.
Jennifer is being honored for her work with the The Lopez Family Foundation and Boys & Girls Clubs of America. The Lopez Family Foundation is a not-for-profit organization she founded with her sister, Lynda, to improve the health and well-being of women and children around the world through health education and increasing the quality of medical care available to them. The organization, in partnership with Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, opened its first telemedicine center in Puerto Rico in 2010 and seven new centers in Panama since. The foundation also recently opened the Center for a Healthy Childhood in the Bronx, New York, in partnership with the Montefiore Medical Center, which aims to promote healthy eating, exercise and improve outcomes and access to care for women, children, and families. Additionally, Jennifer has a longstanding and supportive relationship with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. As a young teen, she was an early member of the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club’s Performing Arts Program where she honed her performance skills. She now serves as a National Spokesperson for the organization alongside Denzel Washington.

Jennifer Lopez visited kids at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles yesterdaty. Jennifer surprised them with a special screening of her new animated movie, HOME. Jennifer has long supported the hospital, and her Lopez Family Foundation works closely with them to bring medical care to children in developing countries. CHLA posted photos on their Facebook page.

Jennifer Lopez was honored for her work with the Lopez Family Foundation at Variety’s Power of Women Luncheon yesterday! In a speech, Jennifer explained her motivation for creating the foundation: “I’ve been a mother for six years and there isn’t a single moment of the day that goes by that I don’t worry and every mom knows this feeling and that’s one of the reasons we started the Lopez Family Foundation. We wanted to provide every mother and child with the health care education that we all deserve.”

Jennifer Lopez will be honored at Variety‘s sixth annual Power of Women luncheon as a Lifetime Impact Honoree for her humanitarian efforts. Jennifer is being recognized for her work with the Lopez Family Foundation, which works on access to medical care for women and children. Other honorees include Viola Davis, Jane Fonda, and Reese Witherspoon, and Universal Pictures Chairman Donna Langley.
“The women of the entertainment industry are among the most passionate champions of philanthropy and affecting change for various causes,” said Michelle Sobrino-Stearns, publisher, Variety. “We’re thrilled to once again honor, through our seventh Power of Women initiative, an outstanding lineup of women who do just that.”
The Oct. 10 event at the Beverly Wilshire Four Seasons is held in conjunction with the annual Women’s Impact Report in Variety magazine and in partnership with Lifetime Television. The exclusive luncheon will host 500 Hollywood insiders who will pay tribute to the philanthropic efforts of the honored women. The afternoon will also include VIP pre- and post-ceremony cocktail receptions with an interactive philanthropy bazaar.
